Columbus Ten-Year-Old Facing Charges For Carrying A Gun To School

(Columbus, OH) -- Columbus police say a ten-year-old is facing charges for carrying a gun to school.  

Officers were called to Westgate Alternative Elementary yesterday morning after a staff member discovered the weapon in the boy's backpack. As a precaution, authorities placed the school on lockdown as they investigated the incident.

Sergeant Joseph Albert says the juvenile has been criminally charged for carrying an unlawful concealed weapon and conveying a firearm onto school grounds.
